Solar Amospheres presents: Fundamentals of Vacuum Heat Treating

Solar Atmospheres is a commercial heat treater primarily in vacuum, producing clean bright results with limited to no distortion. “Fundamentals of Vacuum Heat Treating” will walk through the environmentally friendly process, vacuum furnace design, pyrometry for temperature uniformity, and inert gas quenching.  Examples of several materials and processes will be showcased through photos of actual product applications. Use of engineered fixtures, tooling and various high temperature resistant materials to minimize distortion through the thermal cycling process will also be discussed.  Solar Atmospheres position in the additive manufacturing space will be mentioned as well as the medical and aerospace markets served.

Solar Atmospheres is NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) and MedAccred accredited, ISO/AS9100 approved and gained approvals from many corporate prime contractors.  Solar Atmospheres has five facilities – Corporate Headquarters in Souderton, PA., Hermitage PA., Fontana CA., Greenville SC and Warren MI.
