NESMA announces appointment of Dave Devoe as vice president of the association

During its June meeting, the officers and board members appointed Dave Devoe of Plymouth Spring Company, Inc., as Vice President of the New England Spring & Metalstamping Association (NESMA).

Dave has been with the Bristol Connecticut manufacturing business for 29 years serving as Plant Manager, Vice President and eventually went on to become President. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Plymouth Spring.

In December 2021, Plymouth Spring was purchased by Swedish manufacturer, Lesjöfors, one of the world’s largest and most diverse spring manufacturing groups in the world servicing customers large and small, including the likes of Volvo, Scania, JCB and Sony Ericsson. Upon completion of the acquisition, Dave was named President and CEO of Plymouth Spring Company, Inc. In addition to his duties with Plymouth Spring and NESMA, Dave also serves as Executive Director of the Spring Manufacturing Institute and is slated to become its President beginning in 2026.

Dave’s an ideal candidate to eventually lead NESMA. Combined with his five years of NESMA board experience, he has led our Membership and Board Development committee. His participation in SMI has helped keep NESMA in sync with SMI’s initiatives to service and facilitate programing for the local spring industry.” said NESMA President Lucas Karabin.

NESMA was formed in 1956 and is a dynamic organization dedicated to helping its members remain on the cutting edge of their field. The Spring & Metalstamping industry employs thousands of individuals throughout New England. NESMA provides a voice for the industry by advocating for political policies to help manufacturers compete in today’s economy. In addition, they provide education, workforce development and networking events to expand the Spring and Metalstamping industry.
