May 2025 – by Justin Swanson

The Connecticut Manufacturing Collaborative (CMC) held its meeting on May 12, 2025, where key updates were provided by CMO Paul Lavoie, including $5 million in new funding for MIF programs, the launch of Manufacturing 3.0, and notable growth in Connecticut’s manufacturing sector with a $3 billion increase from 2022 to 2024.

Discussions included initiatives like the First Robotics program, supply chain strategies, and the upcoming Career Road Show. Statehouse Associates presented legislative updates, covering budget negotiations, the impact of a workers compensation court ruling, and the replacement of the Transfer Act.

Several legislative items tied to the CMC’s 2025 agenda were reviewed, including tax credits, apprenticeship ratios, and off-site fabrication wage laws. Additional commentary from CBIA and CONNSTEP emphasized collaboration and highlighted capstone initiatives.

The May 19, 2025 report from Statehouse Partners for the Connecticut Manufacturers’ Collaborative (CMC) outlines key legislative developments affecting Medicaid, healthcare, insurance, artificial intelligence, and data privacy in the state.
